In this chapter, we've taken the design from the previous chapter, and on two Windows servers implemented Exchange according to that design from start to finish. We've covered the basics of preparing Active Directory, installation of pre-requisites, and installation of Exchange Server itself.
After installation we've configured a Database Availability Group to provide resilience and high availability for our Mailbox role. We've also configured Load Balancing to share the client load and provide high availability for the Client Access role. Combined, these features provide a very reliable Exchange infrastructure in a fairly small package.
We also went through the basics of configuring Exchange, such as creating SSL certificates, configuring Outlook Anywhere, and configuring the Hub Transport role to send and receive mail.
