Summary

In this chapter, we've walked through the straightforward process of the basic setup of an Office 365 tenant and briefly discussed the advanced options available on top.

The process involved online sign up for Office 365 services followed by instant provisioning. We then configured DNS entries to utilize the domain for our example company Lisa Jane Designs, lisajanedesigns.co.uk, enabling mail and Auto Discover services.

After testing the configuration and ensuring the basic functionality works, we finally connected an iPhone to the service to verify that Office 365 was working correctly with iOS devices.

In the next chapters, we'll begin to look at the more advanced features offered by Exchange and Office 365 to iOS devices, starting with device policies including what policies are available, and the impact of enabling them.
