Time for action – creating and installing an iCloud enabled development profile


We are going to start by creating a new App ID and making sure it is enabled for iCloud access. Using the new App ID we can create, download, and install the development provisioning profile that will enable iCloud access. Let's get started!

  1. Go to http://developer.apple.com and select the Mac Dev Center option.

  2. Login to the Mac Dev Center and select Developer Certificate Utility.

  3. Create a new App ID making sure to Enable for iCloud.

  4. Create a new Development Provisioning Profile for the iCloud enabled App ID by selecting Provisioning Profiles and clicking on the Create Profile button.

  5. On the Create Mac Provisioning Profile detail screen, select Development Provisioning Profile for the Kind field, give it whatever name you like, and select Numbers In The Cloud for the Mac App ID.

  6. Finally, click on the Generate button.

  7. Next, download the Profile.

  8. Double-click on the downloaded .provisionprofile file to install the profile...
