Time for action – creating a project and adding the Quartz framework


So the first thing that we need to do is, once again, create a new project and then add the Quartz framework to the project.

  1. Create a new Xcode project with Automatic Reference Counting enabled and the options set as follows:

    Option

    Value

    Product Name

    iSight iMage cApture

    Company Identifier

    com.yourdomain

    Class Prefix

    Your initials (again recall we are using BTS throughout this book for consistency)

  2. After Xcode creates the new project, design an icon and drag it into the App Icon field on the TARGET Summary.

  3. Remember to set the Organization in the Project Document section of the File Inspector.

  4. Select the iSight iMage cApture TARGET in the standard editor.

  5. Select Build Phases.

  6. Click on the disclosure triangle to reveal the items in the section titled Link Binary With Libraries.

  7. Click on the + button.

  8. Locate and click on the Quartz.framework and then click on the Add button.
