Training


Training users is a critical component of any ERP system implementation and should be planned for accordingly. Best practices for training include:

  • Plan training close to the Go Live date: Training users a month before they start using a new system is not very effective. It is also better to train users after Dynamics GP is already installed so they can experiment with the sample company and look at the screens in the system.

  • Plan to retrain: Having to retrain users does not mean that the initial training was not a success. Repetition helps people learn. Typically, following the Go Live, many of the topics covered in the initial training will need to be revisited. In fact, some companies choose to have the bulk of their training right after the Go Live, so that users can start learning with their own data and real transactions.
