Working with Oracle API Manager as a consumer


WBCV has already started to work with an MVNO telecommunications company called BelTelecomm. Their developers have been provisioned in the API portal and they have already started to make some subscriptions in order to consume APIs. Let's take a look at API Manager from the perspective of an API consumer (in this case BelTelecomm).

  1. Log in to the OAPIM portal as an API Consumer by using the same URL: http://machine:port/apimanager.

    Notice how the OAPIM home page looks for API consumers. From this page, users can either go to the Applications and Subscriptions page to create and manage applications, and/or discover available APIs by browsing the API catalog.

    Tip

    An application is basically the consumer of the APIs published in the OAPIM catalog.

  2. Click on the Discover, test and subscribe links (below Browse the API Catalog) to open the Catalog page:
