Merge records with Combiner

PSTL includes several Combiner functions that can merge records together; for example, if a duplicate site record has been created in error, or if two sites are merged into one, Inventory Site Combiner can be used to combine these records into one without losing any history.

How to do it...

To combine 01-NW Northwest Regional into 01-N North Regional using Customer Combiner, follow these steps:

  1. Open PSTL and select Inventory Site Combiner from Inventory Tools.

  2. Click Next:

  3. In the Starting Site ID field, enter 01-NW.

  4. In the Combined IntoSite ID field, enter 01-N.

  5. Click Convert.

Inventory Site Combiner removes Site IDs and recalculates the summary records to include both sites' records so Northwest Regional will be merged into North Regional with no loss of information, leaving the combined transaction information in the system under the North Regional site ID.
