Most websites out there, including news articles, sports videos, or music, are not quite able to be taken offline completely, given their amount of content. There is no real reason for having everything in your cache if you don't access them. But giving the user the option of saving the content in the cache to read later is the ideal solution. In this recipe, we are going to investigate how we can achieve this.
To get started with service workers, you will need to have the service worker experiment feature turned on in your browser settings. If you have not done this yet, refer to the first recipe of Chapter 1, Learning Service Worker Basics: Setting up service workers. Service workers only run across HTTPS.
