Adding a project to the Windows Dev Center


Apart from developing a project in the IDE, it is also necessary to add the application to the Windows Dev Center. This tool is available via a web browser and makes it possible to perform a lot of operations regarding your applications. At the beginning, you need to specify a new project, and you will learn how to do this while reading the recipe.

How to do it...

To add a project to the Windows Dev Center, perform the following steps:

  1. Open https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/store/publish-apps . If you do not have a developer account, create it according to the instructions presented on the website.

  2. Click on the Dashboard option at the top of the website and log in using the Microsoft account.

  3. Click on the Create a new app button.

  4. Reserve a name for the application by proposing a name in the textbox and clicking on the Reserve product name button, as shown in the following screenshot. Of course, you should enter a name that has not been reserved yet...
