Summary

In this chapter, we brushed up on the fundamentals of MVC and looked at the features of ASP.NET Core MVC. Post learning the fundamentals, we developed the authentication module for our Let's Chat app using Facebook. We checked that we can log in, sign out, register a new user, as well as reset the password, using the work already done by Facebook, with minimal lines of code in our ASP.NET Core 2.0 app. In the next chapter, we will develop the SignalR Chat hub module and complete the Let's Chat web app. We will also learn about unit testing and deployment for the ASP.NET Core 2.0 app.
