In this recipe, we will create a basic .NET Standard 2.0 library for packaging; for demonstration purposes, we will create a small calculator library.
Make sure you have the latest version of Visual Studio 2017 installed and updated on your system. This recipe assumes you have a fair amount of knowledge of creating a .NET Standard 2.0 library.
- Open Visual Studio 2017.
- Click
File | New | Project
and, in theNew Project template
dialog box, selectVisual Studio Solutions
underOther Project Type

in the left-hand pane and selectBlank Solution
in the right-hand pane. - In the
Name:
textbox, typeChapter11.Packaging
as the name of the solution, as shown in the screenshot. Select a preferred location under theLocation:
drop-down list, or click theBrowse...
button and select a location. Leave the defaults as they are:
