Controlling access to customer data


When we think about the fact that the Siebel database stores data that is being viewed and modified by hundreds or thousands of employees of a company, potentially thousands of customers and even external companies, we find that efficient filtering of data is a mandatory requirement.

Customer data records such as accounts, service requests, orders, and agreements must be "tagged" with which user group or users can access them. In Siebel CRM, almost every entity can be associated with the following data to enable precise data security:

  • One or many users or employees
One or many positions

  • One or many organizations
