Testing BAM report Views


A BAM dashboard or report may contain multiple views, and each view in a report is comprised of view data and view properties. This section provides guidelines for testing BAM report views, which can help you to build test cases to verify the functionalities of a BAM report.

Testing View data

View data is the key component for designing BAM report views. To perform comprehensive testing on view data for a particular view, you have to build test cases to cover the following functional areas:

  • Data Object and field selections - verify if the field selections and their display orders meet application requirements.

  • Verify if report filter conditions are set properly as per the requirements.

  • Verify if drilling/driving are configured properly as per the requirements, and if they work as expected.

  • Calculations - report-level calculations are similar to Data Object calculated fields. You need to build test cases to verify the validity and accuracy of the calculation result.
