Time for action - running your new application


  1. 1. Click on Run | Debug and wait for the simulator to be displayed.

    Note

    Note that you may get warnings from your firewall or antivirus system about the simulator trying to access the Internet. There are a number of reasons why the simulator does this so don't worry about the warnings. If you do get any, acknowledge them so that you can continue.

  2. 2. Once the simulator starts, activate the TipCalc application and you can see the simple screen that you created.

  3. 3. Next, click the trackball and the "short menu" comes up.

  4. 4. Click on the Menu button or select the Full Menu menu item from the short menu to show a standard full menu.

  5. 5. Close the menu by pressing the Escape key.

  6. 6. Enter a valid value and click on the Calculate menu item.

  7. 7. Continue testing the application and see if you can spot any problems.

  8. 8. When you are ready to quit the application, close the simulator by clicking on the Close button.
