Introduction

The web has become such an integral part of our lives that even iOS apps regularly use web browser technology to perform certain tasks. This chapter will explore the HTML capabilities of AIR for iOS; from simply launching a web page within Safari, to more integrated experiences where web content is rendered directly within the app itself.

We will primarily focus on the StageWebView class introduced in AIR 2.6. However, those using Flash Professional CS5 and AIR 2.0 will find the Opening a web page within Safari recipe of use.
