Zooming an object


The final gesture we will look at in this chapter is "zoom", which allows a user to scale content. It is typically performed by pinching the screen with two fingers. Drawing your fingers closer will zoom-out while pulling them apart will zoom-in. The Flash platform provides the TransformGestureEvent.GESTURE_ZOOM event that you can listen for and respond to.

Getting ready

If you haven't already done so, complete the Rotating an object recipe before performing this one.

You can continue to work with the code you wrote during that recipe. Alternatively, work from the FLA and document class found in the book's accompanying code bundle at chapter5\recipe9\.

How to do it...

Make these changes to the FLA's document class:
