The literature on information visualization is quite broad. A complete reference of the statistical plots in Mathematica can be found in the documentation along with some tutorials on the plot functions that were not covered here. For those interested in an in-depth analysis of graph drawing and layout algorithms, Handbook of Graph Drawing and Visualization, by Roberto Tamassia, a computer science professor at Brown University, published by CRC Press, can prove to be useful.
