Summary

In this chapter, we moved forward with BI platforms by expanding our query analysis against the data to build different datasets. These datasets were first analyzed with Excel, with PivotTable and PivotChart manipulations, to get a sense of what type of visualizations are possible as well as the magnitude of the measures behind the datasets. We then built upon our visualizations from Excel with an interactive Microsoft Power BI dashboard on top of a query that showed us the volume of employees located by city and postal code for the AdventureWorks Company.

In the next chapter, we will focus on building bar charts using D3.js.
