Creating high quality maps


The previous chapters drew a series of aspects that should be taken care of in the way of making publishable plots and all these aspects felt very similar to one another. This won't be true for maps. Maps require a set of different aspects to be taken care of. For example, scatter, bar, and point plots might require bigger axes to make them publishable. Maps usually requires axes to be erased! Let's walk through the most important points before actually making it happen:

  • Set a pretty color scale with intuitive breaks
  • Relocate and customize legends
  • Occupy the margins by selecting a projection type
