SAP Activate methodology - on cloud, on-premise, and hybrid


Different stakeholders could have different reasoning for moving from their current platform to a new one. Some would be interested to do the transition to harness the cloud capabilities, others might like to use new out-of-the-box and ready to run solutions. Many of them would be motivated to use the next generation ERP business suite.

I would like to start our discussion here with a brief introduction to SAP cloud solutions and what the points of disparity are between cloud and non-cloud implementation before continuing with our SAP Activate discussion.

As we know, SAP S/4HANA offers a choice of deployment: SAP S/4HANA cloud, on-premise, or in a hybrid solution. Each customer has their own reason for using a deployment mode, as each of these has their own pros and cons. Some of the reasons for customers to go on the cloud could be:

  • Fast implementation time, providing quick access to functionality
  • Reduced IT efforts because both hardware...
