Summarizing the problem


Every day, there are many traffic accidents. To address all of the issues relating to an accident, including casualties, vehicle damage, road repairs, and so on, many organizations need to work together. As already described in great detail in Chapter 9, Building a Next-Generation Oracle B2B Platform, in a traditional cross-organizational application, these organizations don't often use a centralized application; rather, each organization has its own back-office application.

These organizations exchange data about accidents, vehicle repair quotes, and insurance claims via EDI messages through a solid network of B2B brokers. However, they need to process the information in their own systems according to their agreed-upon business rules.
