In April 2018, Maersk, an integrated container company working to connect and simplify its customers' supply chain, announced that it was going to launch a shipping supply chain platform in conjunction with IBM. This announcement was further advanced in August 2018, when they announced the creation of TradeLens (https://www.tradelens.com/).
TradeLens, an open and neutral blockchain-enabled shipping solution designed to promote more efficient, predictable, and secure exchange of information across the global supply chain, is the result of a collaboration agreement between Maersk and IBM. It brings together various parties in order to support information sharing and transparency.
