To help manage and group opportunity records for presentation and reporting, we can automatically derive the week number for the date that the opportunity is due to be closed.
In this recipe, we will display a week number derived from the opportunity close date on the opportunity record detail and edit pages that has been calculated from the standard date field called Close Date.
Carry out the following steps to create a formula field for opportunity records to derive the week number for the Opportunity Close Date field:
- Click on the Setup gear icon in the top right-hand corner of the main Home page, as shown in the following screenshot:
