Choosing a template type and setting defaults


You have decided that you need a report that provides some analysis of the data in your database. You've checked the standard ACT! Reports and none of them fit your exact needs. It is a report that you will need on a regular basis so you need to create a report template for that purpose. The first task in the process is choosing the basic type for the report and setting the defaults for the report.

Getting ready

Starting the process can be done from any screen in the ACT! program using the report menu but the easy way is to start from the report screen.

How to do it…

  1. 1. From any screen in the ACT! program, click on Reports in the navigation bar on the left-hand side of the screen.

  2. 2. Click on New Report Template.

  3. 3. In the New Report dialog, click on Contact Reports | Empty Contact Report.
