Chapter 6. Labels and Envelopes

Introduction

In this chapter, we will be working with the label and envelope options in the ACT! report editor. The labels and envelopes use a subset of the overall ACT! report editor so most of what was covered in Chapter 4, Working with the Report Designer and Chapter 5, Subreports and Scripting Techniques regarding fields and field properties also applies to the labels and envelopes. For normal printing, the envelopes and labels are accessed from the File menu and then by choosing Print. Existing envelope and label templates can be opened for editing from the Print dialog, but for creating new templates it's best to go through the Report menu. We will be using that method in these tasks.
