Using Date measures on a BSO cube

In this recipe, we will set up a set of Date-stored members and load data into them. We will also determine our Shelf Life and Days to Sell value by adding the appropriate outline formulas to the two corresponding measures.

Getting ready

To get started, click on the Start menu and navigate to Programs | Oracle EPM System | Essbase | Essbase Administration Services | Start Administration Services Console. In the Log in menu, enter your Administration Server, Username, Password, and click on the Log in button.

How to do it...

Drill down on the Essbase Server in EAS and the Applications node, select the Sample Basic database, and double-click on the Basic outline to edit.
Click on the Properties tab, set Type Measures enable to True, and change the Date format value to yyyy-mm-dd.
Click on the Outline tab, drill down on the Measures dimension, drill down on the Ratios hierarchy, right-click on Profit per Ounce, click on Add sibling, and type in Production Date in...
