Time for action – configuring PerformancePoint in SharePoint


This example shows the steps to configure PerformancePoint and create a Business Intelligence site. These steps are a prerequisite for other samples in PerformancePoint. For this example, Windows Server 2012 must be installed. Installation of SharePoint is not explained in this book (SharePoint configuration and installation requires another book in itself). We WILL just start from the point when you have SharePoint 2013 installed on your server machine. So, let's get started with the configuration using the following steps:

  1. After installing SharePoint 2013, start SharePoint Central Administration.

  2. Go to Manage Service Applications and click on PerformancePoint Service Application.

  3. Then, go to the PerformancePoint Service Application Settings page and use the Unattended Service Account option (map it to a domain account on an active directory). Please note that to get this step working, you may first need to configure Secure Store...
