Microsoft recently released a geospatial 3D visualization tool named Power Map. Power Map, previously named GeoFlow, is a data visualization tool that is very powerful because of the correlation of this component with Microsoft Bing Maps. As a result, this tool can visualize geospatial information on a Bing map using charts and graphs, such as using a column chart as a 3D view of facts.
As you are familiar with Power View maps and charts from the previous chapter, you know that Power View maps do not provide 3D visualization on Bing maps. So, the Power Map tool fills that space and performs great visualizations, especially when you want to compare facts based on geographical information.
For working with the examples in this section, you need to download and install Power Map for Excel 2013 from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=38395. We also use Excel files with geospatial data samples released by Microsoft. You can download sample files from the code bundle...
