Developing reports in a Metro application

As you've seen in the previous section, loading SSRS reports in Windows and web applications was easy because of the existing ReportViewer control. In Metro applications, there is no ReportViewer control (at the time of writing this book), but this is not a dead end. As SSRS reports are web-based, they can be opened from a component that could connect to web pages. Fortunately, there is a component for web browsing in the Metro development environment, which is named Web View. In this section, we will work with this control to create a Metro application that works with SSRS reports.
