Developing a tabular project

To create a tabular project, you need to have SSDT installed. SSDT, as you read in the previous chapter, is a part of the SQL Server installation. After opening SSDT, there are three ways to create a tabular project, such as an empty tabular project, by connecting to a tabular project on the SSAS server, and by importing an existing PowerPivot model.

In this section, you will learn how to create a tabular project from the beginning; you will also see different kinds of data sources supported in tabular.
