Export/Import with OEM12c


OEM12c is also the GUI tool for Data Pump; here we can easily perform the following operations with Data Pump:

  • Transport tablespaces

  • Export to an export file (dump file)

  • Import from an export file (dump file)

  • Import from a database (using database link)

  • Load data from user files (external tables)

  • View export and import jobs

As you can see, OEM12c allows us to basically do almost all of the most important operations available with Data Pump. For this chapter, we will only take a closer look at how to execute an export operation via OEM12c and how to view its job execution.

Executing an export operation

To perform an export via OEM12c, firstly we will need to navigate in the database console (for this example, we will use the pluggable database pdborcl) main menu to Schema | Database Export/Import | Export to export files.
