In this chapter, we learned how to use the .NET Client API, which you will probably use often rather than the HTTP API. We created a test project in Visual Studio to cover basic steps to connect and to interact with RavenDB. Specifically, we covered:
How to set up the development environment and how to reference RavenDB Client using NuGet Package Manager.
We learned how to get connected to RavenDB, open a new session, and load a document from RavenDB.
Also, we learned to insert a new document into RavenDB database, update an existing document, and delete documents from RavenDB.
The RavenDB Safe by Default feature and how to query a documents collection.
There are more advanced commands, but we covered only the basic elements that you need to interact with RavenDB in your own .NET application.
In the next chapter, we will learn more about RavenDB Indexes and Queries and how to use them properly in RavenDB.
