Introduction


In this chapter, we will be classifying the outbound calls of a bank to see if such a call will result in a credit application. We will use the dataset described in A Data-Driven Approach to Predict the Success of Bank Telemarketing. Decision Support Systems, Elsevier, 62:22-31, June 2014 by S. Moro, P. Cortez, and P. Rita found at http://archive.ics.uci.edu/ml/datasets/Bank+Marketing.

We transformed the dataset so that we can use it in our models. The data dictionary is located at /Data/Chapter03/bank_contacts_data_dict.txt.
