Connectivity

Before testing the system, there are some manual steps that you need to look at when migrating. These should form part of any larger migration plan and are extremely important.

Firstly, you must ensure the Oracle BI 12c system has proper connectivity. This is a manual process; there are no migration tools, and you must check the following:

  • NQSConfig.ini

  • odbc.ini (non-Oracle DSNs)

  • tnsnames.ora

  • instanceconfig.xml (for the Presentation Server)

  • userpref_currencies.xml (if you are muti-currency)

  • bridgeconfig.properties (for Presentation Server plug-in information)

These details can be manually copied from the 11g instance or manually inserted in the appropriate format and location for the 12c instance.
