We recommend the following best practices managing support/issues in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Enterprise edition:

  • Always use VSTS sync with LCS BPM; this ensures end-to-end traceability
  • Leverage Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Enterprise edition or LCS to raise any support issues
  • Issue should always be supported with information regarding its impact, symptoms, and task guides with steps and developer recording
  • Issue management should be done in VSTS until its closure and an issue should only be closed by the originator
  • Issue tracking should cover ownership assignments and artifacts linking with requirements, test cases, and other issues/bugs
  • Ensure a rigorous release and test process to ensure minimum impact to working solutions
