Summary

In this chapter, you learned how to write stored procedures. After a theoretical introduction, our attention was focused on some selected features of PL/pgSQL. In addition to that, you learned how to use PL/Perl and PL/Python, which are simply two important languages provided by PostgreSQL. Of course, there are many more languages available. However, due to the limitations of the scope (and length) of this book, those could not be covered in detail. If you want to know more, check out the following website: https://wiki.postgres</span>ql.org/wiki/PL_Matrix.

In Chapter 8, Managing PostgreSQL Security, you will learn about PostgreSQL security. You will learn how to manage users and permissions in general. On top of that, you will also learn about network security.
