Using alternative dimensions and measures


Alternative dimensions and measures can be made available in charts, and the user might select them to be used in the current visualization. These alternative dimensions and measures can be changed.

Getting ready

For this recipe, we will reuse the same data loading as for theCreating treemaps recipe.

How to do it…

  1. Drag a Bar chart object onto the content area.
  2. Add Product line as a dimension.
  3. Add Product Group using the Add alternative button in the alternative dimensions section.
  4. Add Product Sub Group using the Add alternative button in the alternative dimensions section.
  5. Add Sum(Sales) as a measure and label it Sales.
  6. Add Avg(Sales) using the Add alternative button in the alternative measures section and label it Sales Average.
  7. Click on Done.
  8. The finished result should resemble the following screenshot:
