Preface

Creating your first dashboard — defining basic layout

We will start by creating our first dashboard using Cognos Business Insight. We will save the dashboard and use its individual components in later chapters, to assemble enterprise-level dashboards using Cognos Business Insight.

Note

An enterprise-level dashboard can display data from different sources. A report/dashboard created in Report Studio or Business Insight Advanced can be one of them. Business Insight can be used to design such enterprise-level dashboards by picking, for instance, a bar chart from report A, a crosstab from dashboard B, and a pie chart from report C.
