What are drawings


Through the years that PCM has been used, the Drawing modules has gone through many iterations. In the past, there was a complex wizard that allowed the user to use the Drawings modules to initiate change or become a result of a change, as well as having many other branches. It was extremely complex and was met with resistance from the user community. The Drawings and Drawing Sets modules are now designed specifically for documents that will potentially be revised and distributed to multiple parties. Typically, the drawings and specifications of a project are sometimes called technical documents. This module is best used after these drawings have been issued for construction. It is not typically used for design reviews prior to being issued for construction. It can be set up to monitor those as well, but the limited collaboration aspects of PCM limit the true design review comments as they would be visible to anyone assigned to the drawing.
