Creators of spreadsheets are very protective of their creation. It is almost as if it is their child and you have no right to get access to their children whenever you like. It is like the spreadsheet creator is building his own little fiefdom. Some spreadsheet creators are very possessive and do not allow other users access to their creations without specific permissions or else they create a PDF of the spreadsheet for distribution. Do you see the problem with this? If they send you a PDF then you have no idea where the numbers are coming from. You have no idea of any formulae in the background. You just see the data as they want you to see it. Do you think it will ever show the creator in a bad light?
