Change Agents


It is important to have representatives throughout the business and at all levels who sponsor the change alongside senior leadership. The next two sections focus on these sponsors.

Tip

Over the years, I have seen many different names for super users and change agents. Don't get hung up on the semantics. If you want to call them power users, go ahead. If your organization prefers the term advocates, no big deal. Select a name that works for your organization.

What you should focus on in the next two sections is choosing the right people and providing the support they need to be successful in their roles.

Also, the previous two sections discussed the steering committee and the executive sponsors. Most likely, you had no input into who was assigned to these roles. However, you may have some influence over who is selected for the change agent and super user roles.
