Gearing up for implementation

It is always recommended to kick-start gamification efforts in an enterprise with an incremental approach (pilot implementation) as opposed to big bang adoption (full-blown implementation).

There are varied reasons as to why a pilot implementation for gamification is recommended. Here's a list of a critical few:

  • Gamification involves change management: Gamification initiatives involve huge change management and there could be some resistance within an enterprise setup towards adoption. For instance, if the organization is typically hierarchy-driven, a social feature introduced by the gamification system might confuse the employees as it might be in direct conflict with their standard communication protocols.
