When creating your content, whatever type of media it is, you should consider how it will fit with your presentation. Does it use the same color palette? It is important to make sure it won't look out of place when you import it, as this would make all your efforts to create something beautiful go to waste. It is not just complete clashes you should be aware of; sometimes, near matches can be just as bad. Like a visible jump-cut in a video, if you have a background color for the presentation that is a shade or two different from the background color of a custom image, it will stand out and may not have the effect you intended.
