Deploying a Hybrid Infrastructure – Exchange Hybrid

Chapter 9.  Deploying a Hybrid Infrastructure – Directory Synchronization

Now that we have deployed Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), let's start to build our next core service, Directory Synchronization. By now you should have the necessary physical or virtual servers ready or in place. Directory Synchronization is the second service we need to build for our Office 365 integration. The core services and order of implementation are as follows:

  1. AD FS

  2. Office 365 Directory Synchronization

  3. Exchange Hybrid

It's critical that we deploy these services in the order they are listed. If you choose to install these items out of order, some alternative configuration changes will be required and they are not described. Currently, they are listed in the order suggested by Microsoft best practices.

In this chapter, we will look at the deploying Directory Synchronization topic.
