Being an introvert

Jennifer Reif: No, I'm actually not an extrovert. I do alright, having gone through school and given presentations in class. I'm comfortable with it, but I still get nervous. I still practice, practice, and practice before I go on stage. Once I finish speaking, then I want some time to myself. That's when I go back home to my remote location and work by myself. I think it's about balance.

Geertjan Wielenga: Even though there may be a big crowd of people sitting there, sometimes you don't even see them because of the bright lights. Would you say that speaking can be an ideal role for an introvert in that sense?

Jennifer Reif: Yes, it can feel as if you're talking to a blank wall with nobody there. You just have to imagine the people in the audience aren't sitting there.

Geertjan Wielenga: The only problem is that you have these people sitting there looking at you very critically sometimes, which can be daunting. How does the preparation work...
