In Microsoft Word, graphic items such as pictures, icons, shapes, charts, and several other objects are referred to as illustrations. We can also think of them simply as objects that we can place and manipulate to add visual interest to a document. The tools to add these objects to a document can be found in the Illustrations section of the Insert tab. In this chapter, we will learn how to insert illustrations into a document and explore the different types of illustrations.
