Summary

In this chapter, we explored using illustrations in Word documents. Illustration is the term that Microsoft uses to refer to any graphic object that can be added to a document. We learned about the different types of illustrations and how to insert them into a document. We also learned that different types of objects are treated differently when they are placed in a document. Some objects are placed in line with text, while others are placed on their own layer.

Next, we learned how to make text flow around objects and about the many styles of text wrapping we have, as well as how to apply them. This included learning about wrap points and wrap boundaries and how we can manipulate them to better control how text flows around an illustration.

We also looked at how to keep an illustration in place by using the Move with text option and the Fix position on page option. We also learned about anchors and how we could use the Lock anchor option to keep an object on the same...
