Planning our video

To start off, there is one thing we need to have: a gameplay video. There are a ton of different types of gaming videos on the internet, but we’ll be focusing on making a gaming montage. Gaming montages are great to keep an audience captivated and are also how many popular YouTubers have started out making.

Ideally, you want to record anywhere between 1 and 3 hours of gameplay in order to have a good number of fun and exciting clips. It’s very common that 3 hours of gameplay will result in a 10–15-minute video due to the heavy amount of editing that popular YouTubers put into it.

For my project, I will use a 2-hour recording of some gameplay. If you already have a recording, feel free to skip to the next section where we will start editing.
