Correction isn’t hard, but you don’t want to correct every clip from scratch. In this section, you’ll learn how to copy a correction from one clip to another in a few ways, how to get a head start on correction with effects presets, and how to correct entire scenes with a single adjustment. These tricks are serious time savers, and some of them are far from obvious, so don’t skip this.
As of FCP 10.8, you can rename any color correction or indeed, any video effect. This allows you to describe the intention of a correction, making it far easier to understand what a complex series of corrections is intended to accomplish.
In the Video Inspector, you can simply double-click the name of a correction and then type over it. If you would prefer to stay within the Color Inspector, click on the name of the correction and choose Rename Correction from the menu:
