Using Real Time Audio Suite (RTAS) Plug-Ins

The RTAS plug-in effects are different from the AudioSuite plug-ins in three ways. First, as their name implies, they do not require rendering. Secondly, the RTAS plug-ins affect entire tracks, rather than individual Segments. And lastly, you can apply up to five RTAS effects to a track at one time.

It's important to note the following about RTAS plug-in effects:

  • They are processed in order from left to right, in other words from Insert a to Insert e

  • You may get different results depending on the order of the effects

RTAS Plug-Ins are accessible from the following places:

  • Tools Menu | Effect Palette | RTAS category. Also note that there are sets of RTAS Plug-Ins that apply specifically to Mono, Stereo, 5.1, and 7.1 tracks

  • From within the RTAS Tool: Tools Menu | RTAS

  • Right-click on an Audio Track Selector | RTAS Tool

  • Right-click on an Audio Track Selector | RTAS Effects, choose one of the five inserts (a through e), and select a preset from the submenu...
